‘Green’ Rankings a Tool to Win Business for Eco-Consultants
First there was the corporation scorecard issued by Stonyfield Farm front group Climate Counts, and then Greenpeace followed with its ratings of technology companies on their energy use, which appeared to directly contradict the findings of Climate Counts. Now comes a blatantly self-serving ranking of large companies by Atlanta-based GreenBusiness Works, who appear to be trying to win the business from corporations like United Parcel Service and Coca-Cola by praising them for their eco-friendly “sustainability” efforts.
