Today American Tradition Institute is proud to release its first in-house video, in which Environmental Law Center director Dr. David Schnare explains why the ATI ELC was formed. The Law Center has already drawn widespread attention to its work, with three high-profile lawsuits:
- A federal lawsuit against the State of Colorado which seeks to strike down the state’s Renewable Energy Standard as unconstitutional under the Commerce Clause
- A Virginia Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the University of Virginia to gain the release of records that pertain to Climategate scientist Dr. Michael Mann
- A federal Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against NASA to obtain the outside employment records of global warming activist Dr. James Hansen
“We are deeply committed to the environment,” says Dr. Schnare, “but we are committed to rational, sensible environmentalism.
“The Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council and others, take their cases on the basis of some narrow issue, and they disregard the broader implications on the economy, on society, and on peoples’ rights….”
“We will take cases that will affect the environment in a manner that also examines the needs of citizens who want not only a beautiful place in which to live, but jobs, and the opportunity for more education for their children.”
